Sooke Community Association Rental Agreement for Sooke Community Hall

This Rental Agreement is made between the Sooke Community Association (hereinafter referred to as “SCA”) and the Renter (hereinafter referred to as “Renter”) for the use of the Sooke Community Hall, located at 2037 Shields Rd., Sooke, BC.

Rental Details:

1. Rental Spaces and Rates:

            *          Refer to attached rate sheet

2. Equipment Rental:

• Chairs and tables are included.
• PA System: $50.00 per booking.

3. Cleaning and Security Deposit:

• Main hall rentals for dances and bar events will be subject to a $500.00 cleaning and security deposit, refundable if the hall is left clean.

4. Cancellation Policy:

• Cancellations must be made at least 10 days prior to the event date to receive a full refund of the security deposit.
• Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the event will forfeit the $500.00 security deposit.

5. Conditions of Use:

• All rentals are subject to SCA approval.
• The Renter is responsible for the setup and cleanup of the rented space.
• The Renter is responsible for any damage to the facility or equipment during the rental period.
• The Renter is required to put all chairs and tables away after use.
• The SCA reserves the right to enter the facility at any time during the rental period.
• The Renter agrees to comply with all local laws and regulations.

6. Liability:

• The Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the SCA, and it’s Directors from any and all claims, demands, losses, actions, and liabilities, including costs and attorney’s fees, arising out of or resulting from the use of the facility.

7. Rate Changes:

• Rental rates are subject to change. The Renter will be notified of any rate changes prior to the event date.

8. Availability:

• Rental of the facility is subject to availability. The SCA reserves the right to cancel a booking if the facility becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.
